Website Browser, FIREFOX, starts to block Conservatives and Alternate Social Networks.
Firefox in January said they were planning to start censoring conservative news sites, one has to wonder, how long until other browsers do the same thing?
Going on Firefox today, I was at first wondering why Parlor, then MeWe, and other sites were inaccessible; my first thought was that their hosting platforms had once more cut them off. Then I remembered that Parler had taken care of this, and I believe that MeWe had always handled their own servers, so what was going on?
I did what any good journalist would do; I started to google this, there was the announcement made in January, but nothing after this, so I decided to try them on another browser, they came right up. This was insidious; they were not being prevented from posting on the internet, the browser site had cut their access off, when you pull them up, it says they are not able to be found, it may have something to do with the internet, that is a lie.
Firefox is the first to take this step but how long until we see others do the same thing.
Big tech was supposed to be the gateway to knowledge. Instead, they have turned into the gatekeepers, denying information that they feel is not good for the public. Sites such as Firefox are now deciding what sites you can visit. At this point, Google, Paypal, and Facebook are demonetizing or kicking people off their platforms. If these platforms can go around them and get funding otherwise, we will see these sites start to cut off access.
Twitter has gone a step further against Trump, they have stopped Trump from posting but went a step further by threatening to deplatform anyone who dared even share a recording with Trump’s voice or a video of him.
We are seeing these platforms growing in power, yet we see congress doing nothing but sitting on their hands. There is the usual voice service given to this, but when much of the representatives take money from Google for their campaign efforts we know nothing will ever be done.
Section 230 is giving them a free hand, why is this still in place? We need to demand our leaders act on this, we saw what happened in the last election when Big Tech threw their all in behind the left, it is time to stop this politicization of our access to information and access to free speech.
